A day after a major fire broke out under a railway bridge near Sector 19 in the Maha Kumbh area, another fire was reported at a tent in Sector 5 on Monday morning. The latest fire occurred at the kitchen of Ram Das ashram, where preparations were being made to fry puris, according to ANI.
Fortunately, the flames were quickly doused by firemen, preventing the fire from spreading to other tents. No casualties have been reported, and authorities are assessing the damage caused by the fire.
DG Fire Avinash Chandra emphasized the importance of fire safety in the Kumbh area, stating that 53 fire stations and 20 fire posts have been built, with over 1,300 firemen deployed. He added that the response time to fires is around three minutes, and that devotees should feel safe with the infallible fire and police arrangements in place.
The first fire, which occurred on January 19, was caused by a cylinder blast and resulted in no injuries, according to ADG Bhanu Bhaskar. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the site and directed authorities to take care of the incidents, while PM Narendra Modi also spoke to the CM about the fire incident.
