BJP Leader Kirit Somaiya Files Complaint Against Fake Birth Certificates for Bangladeshi and Rohingya Immigrants

Nasik/Malegaon – Waseem Raza Khan

On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya visited the Malegaon Camp police station to file a complaint regarding the alleged issuance of fake birth certificates to Bangladeshi and Rohingya immigrants. Somaiya submitted a list of 1,000 individuals who allegedly presented fake documents to obtain birth certificates.

Additionally, Somaiya provided a list of 38 individuals who used forged documents to obtain birth certificates, along with supporting documents and evidence. He alleged that these individuals deceived the government by submitting false information to obtain birth certificates.

The issue has raised concerns about the authenticity of government documents and the potential for fraudulent activities. The police have arrested three individuals who were found to have submitted fake documents to obtain birth certificates.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has already sanctioned a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate allegations of fake birth certificates being issued to Bangladeshi immigrants in Malegaon. The SIT will consist of personnel from both the district administration and law enforcement sectors.

Somaiya has expressed concerns about the sudden increase in birth certificate applications in Malegaon, from 200-250 between January and June 2024 to 2,800 between July and December 2024. He has called for a thorough investigation and demanded that all officials and employees involved in issuing fake birth certificates be held accountable.
