Tehran, Iran – June 26, 2025 – Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei today issued a stern warning to the United States against any future aggression, asserting that the Islamic Republic emerged victorious from the recent 12-day conflict with Israel. In his first public comments since June 19, broadcast on Iranian state television, Khamenei declared that the US’s intervention in the war, which saw it strike three Iranian nuclear bases alongside Israel, was a desperate attempt to save the “Zionist regime” from “utter destruction.”
Khamenei stated that the US “achieved no gains from this war,” and that Iran had delivered a “hand slap to America’s face” by attacking an American base in Qatar on Monday. While that missile attack reportedly caused no casualties, the Supreme Leader cautioned that such actions could be “repeated in the future” as Iran maintains access to “centers in the region and can take action whenever it deems necessary.”
“The fact that the Islamic Republic has access to important American centres in the region and can take action against them whenever it deems necessary is not a small incident, it is a major incident,” Khamenei emphasized, reiterating that the US would pay a “heavy price” for any further aggression. “Should any aggression occur, the enemy will definitely pay a heavy price,” he warned.
The conflict, which concluded with a US-brokered ceasefire, led to significant casualties in Iran. Tehran reported earlier this week that 606 people were killed and 5,332 injured. Following the ceasefire, life in Iran has gradually begun returning to normal, with the partial reopening of its airspace and shops in the capital of Tehran, and a visible increase in traffic on the streets.
