Delhi Election Results 2025 LIVE: BJP Leads with 48 Seats, AAP Trails Behind with 24

Delhi – Agency

The Election Commission has begun announcing the results of the highly anticipated 2025 Delhi Assembly elections. As of the latest updates, the BJP is leading with 48 seats, followed by AAP with 24 seats, and Congress with 1 seat.

Most exit polls had predicted a comfortable win for the BJP in Delhi, including P-Marq Peoples Pulse, JVC Poll, People’s insight, and Chanakya Strategies. However, Matrize had projected a hung assembly in Delhi, while Mind Blink and Wee Preside predicted a landslide victory for Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP. Key candidates, including former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, faced a crushing defeat against BJP’s Parvesh Verma in the New Delhi constituency. AAP candidate and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi contested from Kalkaji constituency, while AAP’s Manish Sisodia competed from Jangpura seat. The BJP’s lead is seen as a landmark comeback in Delhi, with the party inching closer to a landslide victory in the capital after 27 years. To form the government in Delhi, a party or alliance needs to win at least 36 seats in the 70-member house.

The Delhi election results are out, and it’s a significant win for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The BJP has secured 48 seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has won 22 seats. The Indian National Congress (INC) has managed to win only 1 seat. This election marks a landmark comeback for the BJP in Delhi after 27 years. The AAP, which was hoping to secure a third consecutive term, has faced a significant setback. The INC’s poor performance is also notable, given its historical presence in Delhi politics.

Key candidates, including former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, faced defeats in their respective constituencies. Kejriwal lost to BJP’s Parvesh Verma in the New Delhi constituency. The election saw a turnout of 60.54%, with the BJP securing a significant lead in the majority of the constituencies. The AAP and INC will now have to regroup and reassess their strategies after this significant electoral setback.
